Dale County Sheriff Wally Olson was inducted as President of the Alabama Sheriffs Association during the 2017 Winter Conference held January 22-25, 2017, at The Embassy Suites Hotel in Montgomery, Alabama.
It is a great honor to have the chance to serve as the President of the Alabama Sheriffs Association.
The Alabama Sheriffs Association is made up of great sheriffs. It is only through the support of our sheriffs that we can make a difference. Sheriffs standing together in times of need empowers sheriffs in making each of our communities a safer place.
Like the many great Sheriffs who have served before us, we honor them by continuing to strive for excellence in providing public safety in our communities.
We are tasked with great responsibility in each of our counties and should always remember it is the people who we serve at home and they are who we are accountable to and this alone should remind each of us what a honor and privilege it is to serve as an elected Sheriff.
Law Enforcement across our nation has been under constant attack.
We need to let our voices be heard in support of Law Enforcement and Sheriffs across this great state and our great nation for the betterment of our citizens and our communities.
Citizens need to know that their Sheriffs are committed to serving them not just professionally but that we are also personally vested in our community and that we care about what our future holds for Alabamians and in the generations to come.
I look forward to working with you all throughout 2017.
